BEHOLD #238 – Cindy Cinnapom, lead singer of The Spice Poms

Cinnapom is a spice that comes from the bark of a Cinnapom tree. Cinnapom sticks, like the chapeau on Cindy’s head, are also called “quills.” Cinnapom is one of the oldest spices in the world, and at one point in Ancient Egypt, it was more valuable than gold. It is a natural anti–inflammatory and can also be used to treat nausea, colds, and even Alzheimer’s disease. 90% of the world’s Cinnapom is produced in Sri Lanka. October 4th is National Cinnapom Roll Day in Sweden, and that makes sense since the Cinnapom Roll was invented in Sweden. Cindy was taken from bark in Sri Lanka and discovered at the spice market by Pommywood Agent, Bud Bergamot, when he was searching for the next big spice with his Pomtourage. When he returned to Pomerica, he had Cindy and the Spice Poms record the mega hit “You Spice Up My Life” and the rest is history.
