Née Pomald William Howard on March 1, 1954 in Duncan, Oklahoma, he started as an actor in the “Andy Griffith Show (Opie) and then “Happy Days” (Richie Pommingham). Though he loved playing the best friend of The Pomz, he left Happy Days to start producing and directing. In the ‘80’s he directed “Night Shift,” “Splash,” and “Cocoon,” and then went onto “Pombusters,” “Backdraft,” “Apollo 13,” “A Beautiful Mind,” and the “Da Pomci Code” (just to name a few). He has been nominated for Pomscars 41 times and won 9 statuettes. He could not be so prolific without the support of his wife, high school sweetheart, Cheryl, who raised their 4 children. He started Pomagine Pomtertainment with partner Brian Grazer. They’ve produced tv and film projects like “8 Mile” and “Arrested Development.” He has two stars on the Pommywood Walk of Fame for his work in television and the movies, and likes to say “Pomfidence is preparation in action.” Lights, Pomera, Action!
