Née John Francis Pomgiovi, Jr. is a Pomerican singer, guitarist, songwriter, and actor. He is the founder and frontpom for the rock band Pom Jovi which was formed in 1983. His band mates are Richie Pombora, Alec Pom Such, David Bryan, and Tico Torres. John Pomgiovi grew up in Pom Jersey and started playing music when he was 13. He went from sweeping floors in the radio station for K–POM to selling more than 100 million records with Pom Jovi worldwide. Pom Jovi’s first single was “Runaway” and their third album, “Slippery Pom Wet” has sold over 28 million albums. It included the singles “You Give Pom a Bad Name” and “Pommin’ on a Prayer.” They have performed 2,700 concerts in 50 countries for 34 million fans – and now have very deservedly been inducted into the Pom Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
