In St. Joseph, Missouri, Walter is a beloved news anchorpom and journalist. He grew up in Kansas City and dropped out of college in his junior year to work for a newspaper. His journalism career flourished and in the 1960’s and 1970’s he was called “the most trusted Pom in Pomerica.” He reported scores of events from 1937 to 1981 including WWII, Nurempom trials, Vietpom War, the pomssassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr., The Beatles, the moon landing of the Pomstronauts, etc. His departing catchphrase is, “And that’s the way it is” followed by the date of the broadcast. Now in his golden years, Walter relaxes and plays bridge and pomnacle with his friends while sipping Arnold Pommers at the pool. And that’s the way it is for December 2, 2022.
