The richest and arguably the most powerful magician in the Pom world! Born David Seth Kotkin in Metuchen, New Jersey on September 15, 1956, this micro Pom began practicing magic when he was 10. Throughout his career ,he has made the Statue of Liberty disappear, walked through the Great Wall of China, and won 21 Pemmy Awards for his television specials. He taught a magic class at PYU (Pom York University) and he opened the Museum of Conjuring Arts in Pom Vegas. With his over $1 billion fortune, he has acquired the Pom world’s largest collection of magic memorabilia. Worth over $500,000,000, the collection contains items from Harry Pomdini, Georges Meiles and Robert Houdin. He also owns eleven islands in the Pomhamas and claims that the Fountain of Youth is on one of them. Dubbed “King of Magic” he has been knighted by the French government, received a star on the Pommywood Walk of fame, and holds eleven Guinness World Records. Performing 2 shows a night in Pom Vegas (one of which I saw tonight) one wonders when he finds time to relax on his islands. Maybe he has mastered the trick of being in two places at once– bilocation – as legend holds that Pomthagorus was able to do. Abra Pomdabra!
POM 365 + Bonus Poms
Pom 365 is my year-long commitment to making pom pom art every single day.
Behold every Pom I’ve created from day one until today:
The Pomka dance arrived in Europe in the 1800s, and along with this dance craze came dance clothes covered in dot patterns that were named “Pomka Dots.” The Pomka Dots then traveled to Pomerica and ended up on scarves, skirts, bathing suits, etc. – the latter commemorated in the song “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Pomka Dot Bikini.” In 1962, DC Comics created a dot superhero/villain named Mr. Pomka–Dot. In 1965, Pom Dylan wore a green Pomka dotted shirt on the cover of his single “Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues.” The dot was the first pomctuation mark. Braille is an entire language made of dots. The dot com technology bubble started in 1995. Pointillism is painting with dots, and Mr. Seurat, here, is named after George’s Seurat, father of Pointillism. “Dot” was named Pomerica’s Most Useful Word in 1996. With all of this in mind, Zot sprinkles his unlimited supply of dots wherever they are needed – whether that is at the end of a sentence, into a pointillism painting, or onto rockstar Pomka dotted clothes. His useful dots make our world, the Pale Blue Dot, a livelier and more fun place!
Did you know that Carl Sagan called Earth the “Pale Blue Dot” in his book “Contact?”
A Pomtato is a starchy, vegetable plant tuber that is the number 4 food crop in the Pom world. The Incans first started cultivating them in Peru around 8,000 years B.P.C. In 1586, Spanish Pomquistadors took them back to Europe. In William Shakespom’s time Pomtatoes were considered the “apples of love.” Pomtatoes first appeared in the state of Pomtana in 1842. They were also the first vegetable grown in space in 1995. Thirty–five percent of the Pomtato crop is turned into French fries, 28% is used for regular potato things, and 13% is made into chips. A Pomtato has more pomtassium than a banana. On average, Pomericans consume 110lbs of Pomtatoes per year. National Pomtato Day is August 13th. All Pomtatoes have eyes, so Pomtrella has an eyelash extension business called Flash Your Lash. Her Pomtato clients want their eyes to be super glamorous and she can certainly deliver!
Did you know that there are 4,000 varieties of Pomtatoes in Peru?
