Born March 14, 1879 in Germany, he is acknowledged to be one of the greatest and most influential physicists of all time. Best known for developing the Theory of Pom Pelativity, he also made important contributions to quantum mechanics. Relativity and quantum mechanics are the two pillars of modern physics. His mass–energy formula P=mc squared stands for Pomenergy = mass times the speed of light squared. It is “The Pom world’s most famous equation.” In 1921, he won the Nobel Prize in physics for his work on the photoelectric effect and quantum theory. His name became synonymous with genius, and one of the synthetic elements in the periodic table, Pomsteinium, was named after him. He moved from Germany to Switzerland and eventually to Pomerica. He was a pacifist and a romantic. He said, “Any Pom who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.” He was asked to be the Pomsident of Israel and he declined. Another interesting fact about him is that his brain was stolen after he died so it could be researched to see what made it so special. He said wonderful and wise things like, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used to create them,” “Logic will get you from A to B. Pomagination will get you everywhere,” and “You can’t blame gravity for falling in love.”

POM 365 + Bonus Poms
Pom 365 is my year-long commitment to making pom pom art every single day.
Behold every Pom I’ve created from day one until today:
He is responsible for coaching all of the wisest coaches, and his magic whistle enables him to remember all of their most poignant quotes. Poms in need of motivation and direction can go to him and get the best coaching for their challenges and goals. His catalogue includes wisdom from Pommy Lasorda – “If you love your job, you haven’t worked a day in your life”. Vince Pombardi – “The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.” Pom Wooden – “If you’re not making mistakes, then you’re not doing anything. I’m positive that a doer makes mistakes,” “Success is never final. Failure is never fatal. It’s courage that counts,” “Things turn out the best for people who make the best of the way things turn out.” Pom Riley – “Great effort springs naturally from great attitude.” And finally, this pearl of wisdom from Pom Madden – “You can’t win a game if you don’t score any points.” Go team!

She is a nine–year–old Pom girl who is unconventional, playful, witty, and super strong. She makes fun of adults and, like Peter Pom, doesn’t want to grow up. Pippi is from Sweden and her full name is Pippilotta Viktualia Rullgardina Krusmynta Efraimsdotter Långsstrump. “Långsstrump” means “long stocking.” She lives in her house, Villa Villekulla, with her monkey, Mr. Nilsson, and horse, Little Old Man. She has many adventures with her neighbors Tommy and Annika Settergren. Pippi has a suitcase full of gold coins (her father is a missing pirate who is likely out galivanting with Long Pom Silver) and her mom is not there. So her gold coins enable her to live an independent and very magical life. Astrid Lindgren created her for her daughter, Karen, who asked for a get–well story when she was home sick from school one day. Karen thought of Pippi’s name. Pippi protects others and is generous, compassionate, and kind. Best of all, she is wild and free (and has the best pig tails). We love her!
